Calgary Police were called to the scene by staff at the hotel after it appeared things were getting heated between two factions of protestors.
Police tell 660News, they calmed the situation down, and nobody was hurt and the situation ended peacefully around 7:30 p.m.
The protest stemmed from meetings of Ethiopian officials being held at the hotel.
Protestors started arriving around 3 p.m. hoping to get into the meetings.
However, they were denied access.
The leader of the movement told 660News they were there protesting the government of Ethiopia, saying they are a dictatorship without freedom of speech, or freedom of the press.
Protestors say they should be allowed into the meetings, or the meetings should be cancelled altogether.
